Cuyabeno is one of the places with the highest concentration of wildlife on the planet, both flora and fauna, and you can be part of this wonderful natural experience. Venture on a tour through some Amazonian rivers while understanding the reason why it is considered one of the most bio diverse sites in the world. With the canoe tips and walks, you can observe the variety of orchids, monkeys, reptiles, birds, which accompanied by beautiful sunrises and susets will be part of your best memories that will also have the pleasure of shooting. The experience is complemented with a visit to the Siona Community, who will share part of their culinary traditions. Also, you will interact with a true shama of the community who shares with you their vision of the world.
Day 1: Cuyabeno Wildlife Reserve
The tour starts in Lago Agrio at 9:00. You will take private transportation to the entrance of Cuyabeno Wildlife Reserve, where having lunch. On this site, visitors must register at the Reserve’s office and then you will take a canoe for continuing with the tour. Our naturalist guide provides important information about the Reserve, some recommendations and other advice, prior to this two-hour canoe trip down the Cuyabeno River to get your accommodation site.
During the canoe trip, you can enjoy the wonderful flora and fauna found in the jungle. You can also watch some of the 10 species of monkeys, birds and other animals, depending on weather conditions. Around 4:00 pm, you will arrive to your accommodation site and immediately the rooms will be distributed, so you can relax and rest for a few minutes. After a nap, you leave the camp to swim in the lagoon while you have the opportunity to see freshwater dolphins and take pictures of the sunset. At night, after a walk, you can finish this day resting on a hammock in the country house or drinking a beer of the bar. (Meals included: Lunch and dinner)
Day 2: Cuyabeno Wildlife Reserve
You start this day with a hike through the primary forest, where the guide will explain about the ecology of the Amazon forest, plants, flora, fauna and interactions among these ecosystems which have part of the biggest biodiversity on the Earth. Until evening you will take a motor canoe ride for looking alligators. (Meals included: Breakfast, lunch and dinner)
Day 3: Siona Indigenous Community of Puerto Bolivar
You will take a canoe downriver to the Siona Community of Puerto Bolivar, where you welcome by one of their indigenous women, who will guide you to the cassava plantations to harvest some of them and with your help showing the preparation of one of their traditional meals, casabe, which is a flat cassava bread. Next, the guide introduces one of the last 4 shamans of the Siona tribe in Ecuador; he will explain his vision of the world directly related to the ayahuasca drink. A part of the energy cleaning ritual will also be performed; it includes songs that come from an ancient oral tradition from shaman to apprentice. (Meals included: Breakfast, lunch and dinner)
Day 4: Cuyabeno Wildlife Reserve – Lago Agrio
In the morning at 5:30, you begin with the birds sighting and looking the sunrise. After breakfast, you will go back to the Cuyabeno Bridge, where a private bus will pick you up for taking you to Lago Agrio. There, you can take the transportation of your preference for retuning to Quito. (Meals included: Breakfast and lunch)

In cases of force majeure and / or fortuitous event, the Operator reserves the right to make the respective modifications in the itinerary, trying to change as little as possible the travel proposal initially presented. Cases of force majeure are those unforeseen situations external to the nature of the tour, such as: natural disaster, adverse weather conditions, fires, floods, damages caused by landslides or earthquakes, pandemics or epidemics, popular demonstrations, road closures and / or factors of risk before which a state authority prohibits the entrance to a certain zone, etc.
It is recommended to purchase travel insurance according to your needs.
In case of cancellation, the penalty is 30% of the total value if it’s made 20 days before the start of the tour and 100% if it’s made 5 days before the tour.

What to bring:
Flashlights (Preferably LED for night walking activities and night observation of alligators), swimwear, sunscreen, mosquito repellent and water bottle.

In case of you want to travel alone and don’t mind sharing the room with one or two other people, the rate is the same. By another hand, if you prefer private accommodation, you must pay a supplement (High season: 50%; Low season: USD $ 40)
