Bahía Tortuga is a beautiful beach with white sand, which is named for being a nesting site for sea turtles. It is divided into two inlets: playa brava and playa mansa.
It can be accessed by means of panga or walking from Puerto Ayora (2.5 km from Baltra Avenue to the end of the brava beach). The estimated time of the walk is 50 minutes.
Between the brave beach and the mansa, there is a circular path that runs through the intertidal zone and crosses a tuna forest (opuntia sp) and ends a mangrove jeli area at the beginning of the mansa beach.
The brave beach is an ideal place to surf while the gentle beach is perfect for snorkeling and kayaking.
