SPONDYLUS ROUTE – 8D/7N
This program allows you to tour the famous “Spondylus Route”, a tourist route that crosses all the coastal provinces of Ecuador. You don’t only visit the beautiful beaches that it has in its path; also includes fishing villages, cities, ports, where you will observe its culture, history, gastronomy, nature, customs and traditions closely, which make each site a unique and special place. This route includes the provinces of Esmeraldas, Manabí, Santa Elena and Guayas, making stops at emblematic points of each destination.
Day 1: Quito
The beginning of your trip is the Mariscal Sucre International Airport, where one of our representatives will receive you to give a warm welcome to Ecuador. After some general instructions, you will be transferred to your selected hotel for accommodation. Depending on the arrival time, this day also includes a city tour to know the emblematic places of the capital city. (Meals included: Lunch depending on the arrival time; and dinner in all cases.
Day 2: Quito – Esmeraldas
In the morning, you start your trip to the Ecuadorian coast. When you arrive to Santo Domingo, we make a stop there to observe the city and take some pictures. Upon get your final destination, Atacames, you will go to the selected restaurant to taste a typical lunch of this area. Later, you have the free afternoon for resting in your hotel or enjoy the sunset at this famous beach on the north coast. (Meals included: Breakfast, lunch and dinner)
Day 3: Canoa – Manta
In the morning, continues your journey to the south. Passing through Muisne and Cojimies, you have stops for shooting the landscapes. The next destination is Canoa, where can enjoy the morning walking through its commercial area and beach. In the afternoon, you go to Montecristi to learn about making of straw hats, internationally known as “Panama Hats”, also have a visit to Ciudad Alfaro. Finally, you will return to Manta for accommodation and enjoy the night walking around its port and tourist area (Meals included: Breakfast, lunch, dinner)
Day 4: Machalilla National Park (Los Frailes Beach and Agua Blanca Community)
Continuing with the route, you will to Machalilla National Park. There, your first stop is at Los Frailes Beach, considered one of the most beautiful beaches in Ecuador, where you can enjoy its waves and landscapes. Within the reserve, proceed to “Agua Blanca” Community to observe archaeological vestiges of the Manteña culture and have a walking to the sulfur lagoon. Next, you will move to Puerto Lopez for the respective accommodation. (Meals included: Breakfast, lunch and dinner)
Day 5: Isla de la Plata
From Puerto Lopez, you will take a boat to go to the Isla de la Plata, known as “The Poor Man’s Galapagos”. Many of the species found in this place are the same as those found in the Galapagos Islands. Here, you have an explanation about the ecosystem and then a walk to observe the flora and fauna of the area. In the afternoon, you will go to Drake Bay for doing snorkel and to look marine species such as colorful fish and coral reefs. Finally, you will return to your accommodation in Puerto Lopez for resting. (Meals included: Breakfast, box luch in the island and dinner)
Day 6: Montañita – Olon – Salinas
Leaving Machalilla National Park, we go in direction to Montañita. On the way, you have a stop at the Sanctuary of Olon. Montañita is known for being an ideal place for surfers, so in the morning you can enjoy its beach, visit its handicraft shops or even surf, as an additional activity. The tour continue to the “Amantes de Sumpa” Museum, in Santa Elena, site that was a township of Las Vegas culture and a large cemetery in America. Further on, you have the site called as “La Chocolatera”, the most outstanding point of continental Ecuador, where you can admire the landscape some minutes and shooting the moment, before moving to your accommodation site in the city of Salinas. (Meals included: Breakfast, lunch and dinner)
Day 7: Guayaquil
In the morning, your tour continues to Guayaquil. The first place for visiting is the Historical Park, where you will observe the flora and fauna of the area, as well as traditional houses of the Ecuadorian Coast. You also have a city tour, walking around the most representative places in the city such as the Seminario Park, Torre del Reloj and Malecon 2000. Finally, you will be move to the Jose Joaquin de Olmedo Airport, to take the flight assigned for this trip.
At the Mariscal Sucre International Airport, one of our representatives will be waiting for you to receive and transfer you to your accommodation site. (Meals included: Breakfast, lunch and dinner)
Day 8: Transfer out
Depending of your departure time, one of our representatives will be waiting for you outside of your hotel, for picking up and transfer you to the Mariscal Sucre International Airport, site from can continue with your trip plans.

In cases of force majeure and / or fortuitous event, the Operator reserves the right to make the respective modifications in the itinerary, trying to change as little as possible the travel proposal initially presented. Cases of force majeure are those unforeseen situations external to the nature of the tour, such as: natural disaster, adverse weather conditions, fires, floods, damages caused by landslides or earthquakes, pandemics or epidemics, popular demonstrations, road closures and / or factors of risk before which a state authority prohibits the entrance to a certain zone, etc.
It is recommended to purchase travel insurance according to your needs.
In case of cancellation, the penalty is 30% of the total value if it’s made 20 days before the start of the tour and 100% if it’s made 5 days before the tour.
